Our Provost

His Excellency Alh. Yahaya Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State has approved the appointment of Dr. Muhammad-Badar Salihu Jibrin as the 12th provost of Kogi State College of Education, Ankpa.

The young erudite and seasoned scholar commenced what was to be a fruitful academic career at L.G.E.A Primary School, Ajobe in Ankpa Kogi State in 1981 before proceeding to the prestigious St. Charles’ College, Ankpa. On completion of his secondary school education in 1992, he moved to the famous Bayero University, Kano (B.U.K) where he obtained his First Degree in 1998 and Master Degree in 2002. His first and second degrees were both in English Language respectively. Filled with the insatiable thirst for academic laurels, Dr. Muhammad-Badar Jibrin pursued his Doctorate Degree with a burning passion and determination that has become the hallmark of his career this time at the premier University of Northern Nigeria, the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, His effort was crowned with sterling success in 2012 when he obtained the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in English Language. He is currently an Associate Professor/Reader at the Kogi State University, Anyigba (KSU).

The Associate Professor of English Language has been teaching and conducting research in his specialized area at the University level over the past 15 years. During the course of his career, Dr. Muhammad-Badar has been on sabbatical at the Nasarawa State University Keffi and has served at various capacities as; Head of Department, Deputy Director/Coordinator of pre-Degree Programme, KSU, Course facilitator, Exams Officer, Secretary of ASUU KSU Chapter, External Assessor, Editor and Research Supervisor. He has supervised Several Master Degree and undergraduate projects. Until his recent appointment, he was the Deputy Dean/Coordinator of the pre-degree programme, Kogi State University, Anyigba.

Dr. Muhammad-Badar Salihu Jibrin hails from Ajobe-Odeto, in Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State. He has since assumed office and commenced his duties as the Chief Executive Officer of the State Premier College of Education.
